Key Responsibilities

As a Veterinarian, you will:

  • Diagnose diseases or abnormal conditions through physical examinations and laboratory tests
  • Treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, performing surgery, setting bones, and dressing wounds
  • Vaccinate animals to prevent and control diseases
  • Advise clients on animal feeding, housing, hygiene, breeding, and general care
  • Perform routine, emergency, and post-mortem examinations
  • Provide veterinary services including obstetrics, dentistry, and euthanasia
  • Supervise animal health technologists and animal care workers (1–2 staff)
  • Maintain accurate medical records and clinical documentation
  • Ensure compliance with veterinary regulations, ethics, and clinic standards
  • Work flexible schedules including evenings, nights, weekends, and overtime when required

Education, Experience and Language Requirement

To qualify for this role, you should have:

  • Education: Degree in veterinary medicine
  • Experience: 3 to less than 5 years of veterinary experience (Required)
  • Certification & Licensing:
    • Canadian Veterinary Medical Association Certification
    • Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
  • Language: English (spoken and written)
