Education, Skills and Experience
Ngāi Tahu are looking for farm assistants who bring:
- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Passion for farming, land, and animals
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Practical stock handling and pasture management experience (advantage)
- Confidence using farm equipment, machinery, and vehicles (training provided if needed)
- A proactive, can-do attitude
- Openness to learning te reo Māori, Ngāi Tahu tikanga and values
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities as a Farm Assistant may include:
- Assisting with stock handling, feeding, and animal care
- Supporting pasture management and daily farm operations
- Safely operating farm equipment, vehicles, and machinery
- Helping during seasonal peaks (calving, grazing, maintenance)
- Upholding Ngāi Tahu farming values and sustainability practices
