Key Responsibilities
As a Framer-Carpenter, you will:
- Prepare layouts according to building codes, using measuring tools
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
- Estimate costs and materials needed for projects
- Prepare tenders and quotations as required
Education, Experience, and Language Requirements
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of related work experience
- Language: English (required for communication with clients and team)
- Age: Must be at least 18 years old
Work Environment
This role involves:
- Working on-site at various construction and renovation projects
- Handling carpentry tools, equipment, and materials
- Performing physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods
- Wearing protective equipment (steel-toed safety boots required)
