Traffic Signs Ltd NZ are now seeking a motivated General Factory Worker to join our team. This role will cover three areas of our operations: stores, metal fabrication, and sign installation.

Education, skills & experience

Traffic Signs NZ Ltd are looking for someone who:

Is physically fit and able to perform hands-on production tasks

Has previous experience in manufacturing or production (advantage, but not essential – full training provided)

Holds a current forklift license (or willing to obtain one)

Is reliable, motivated, and has strong problem-solving skills

Has good organisational and time management abilities

Can meet deadlines under pressure while maintaining accuracy and quality

Has excellent hand/eye coordination

Key Responsibilities

Your day to day responsibilities as a general factory worker will include the following tasks:

Stores

  • Pick, pack, and distribute customer orders within set timeframes
  • Wrap, label, and attach packing slips correctly
  • Pack freight securely to avoid damage in transit
  • Assist with final quality checks
  • Receive and check deliveries, note damages, and unpack as needed
  • Verify goods against packing slips and forward to Production Manager/Planner
  • Assist with unloading shipping containers (training provided)
  • Support stock control and assist with regular stocktakes

Metal Fabrication

  • Operate power tools and machinery including guillotine, hydraulic riveting machine, and drop saw (training provided)
  • Assemble and finish aluminium traffic signs
  • Follow production schedules and meet quality/efficiency standards
  • Work safely and effectively within the production team

Sign Installation

  • Assist Installation Foreman with sign foundation excavations, concrete works, support, and erection (training provided)

Health & Safety

  • Follow company safety policies and the Health & Safety at Work Act 2015
  • Contribute to a safe and tidy workplace
