Key Responsibilities
As a General Farm Worker, you will:
- Assist with livestock management, lambing, and general sheep and cattle work
- Support scientific research activities on the farm
- Perform general maintenance including fencing, water systems, and equipment repair
- Operate machinery and vehicles safely for day-to-day farm operations
- Undertake weed spraying, pasture topping, and other seasonal tasks
- Collaborate with farm and science staff to meet operational and research goals

Education, Experience, and Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Previous farm or livestock experience (sheep and cattle preferred)
- Good working knowledge of animal health, handling, and recording
- Basic mechanical and maintenance skills
- A current full driver’s licence
- A strong focus on health, safety, and environmental awareness
Work Environment
This position involves:
- Outdoor physical work in varied weather conditions
- Working directly with livestock and agricultural machinery
- Supporting research activities that contribute to New Zealand’s agricultural innovation and sustainability
