Education, Experience and Language Requirement
Pratt & Whitney is looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant welding experience (AC TIG welding experience required; aerospace/aircraft engine component welding preferred)
- Language: Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions in English
Work Environment
The role involves working in:
- A regulated aerospace manufacturing environment
- On-site production and repair facilities
- Safety-sensitive settings under FAA regulations (drug & alcohol testing required)
- Rotational overtime and shift flexibility as needed
Key Responsibilities
As a Welder, you will:
- Perform TIG welding operations to fabricate, repair, and restore aerospace engine parts and tools
- Follow detailed supervisor instructions to carry out welding and restoration projects
- Use fixed and variable measuring instruments to check dimensions and ensure quality
- Conduct visual inspections and report maintenance or repair needs for equipment
- Maintain logs and records to communicate findings and work progress
- Assist with new process trials and specialized assignments as needed
- Follow FAA safety-sensitive guidelines, including regular drug and alcohol testing
- Support colleagues on joint projects requiring crossover skills
- Uphold all company safety, quality, and compliance policies
