Key Responsibilities
Working as a Fam Assistant at 5911 Farms Limited you will be responsible for:
Farm Operations & Management
- Assist with general farm maintenance, including weed control and fencing repairs
- Set up and maintain break fencing for effective grazing management
- Support livestock movement and paddock transitions as directed
- Ensure the farm environment remains clean, safe, and functional
Milking & Dairy Shed Management
- Perform routine milking operations twice daily in a 70-bale rotary shed
- Clean dairy plant, milking equipment, yard, and milk vat after each milking
- Follow strict hygiene and safety protocols to ensure milk quality
Animal Health & Welfare
- Monitor livestock for signs of illness or injury
- Assist with mastitis treatment, calving, and mating seasons
- Carry out regular livestock checks to ensure animal wellbeing
Feed & Pasture Management
- Provide livestock with feed and water as required
- Move livestock between paddocks for optimal pasture use
- Assist in monitoring pasture quality and availability
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Follow farm safety procedures and report any hazards immediately
- Maintain high hygiene standards across all work areas
- Participate in drug testing and compliance inspections
Education, Experience and Language Requirement
5911 Farms Limited requires the ideal candidates for this job to have the following:
- Education: No formal qualification required
- Experience: Previous experience in dairy farming preferred but not essential
- Language: Basic English required for communication and safety compliance
