Key Responsibilities
As an airfield lighting electrician, you will be responsible for the following:
- Install, maintain, and repair airfield lighting systems and electrical infrastructure.
- Perform electrical installations, including cables, transformers, and associated equipment.
- Conduct testing and inspections to ensure compliance with aviation safety standards.
- Maintain airport assets in accordance with ICAO regulations and operational requirements.
- Work on active airfields while ensuring uninterrupted airport and aircraft operations.
- Coordinate activities safely on live taxiways and runways.
- Follow strict health, safety, and operational procedures at all times.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of IT-based control systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical f
- aults and system issues.
- Travel regularly to regional airports across New Zealand and occasionally Australia.
- Participate in maintenance programs that may involve both day and night shifts.
- Collaborate with project teams to deliver specialized aviation infrastructure solutions.

Qualifications
To qualify for the job you will need:
- Current EWRB Trade Qualification and Electrical Practicing License.
- Previous experience working as an electrician.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, installations, and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to work in physically demanding outdoor environments.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety practices.
- Ability to travel extensively throughout New Zealand and occasionally Australia.
- Experience working in safety-critical environments is an advantage.
- Knowledge of airfield lighting systems is beneficial but not essential.
- IT or networking experience will be considered an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities effectively.
- Valid New Zealand driver’s license preferred.

Shifts Available: Day, Night, Weekend, and On-Call Maintenance Shifts
