Key Responsibilities

As a Long Haul Truck Driver, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Operate straight trucks or tractor-trailer trucks to transport goods and materials safely.
  • Load and unload cargo when required.
  • Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Inspect tires, brakes, lights, refrigeration units, and other equipment before travel.
  • Monitor the overall condition of the vehicle and report maintenance issues.
  • Receive and relay transportation information to the central dispatch team.
  • Maintain accurate driver logbooks and trip documentation.
  • Record cargo details, fuel consumption, distance travelled, and hours of service.
  • Follow all provincial and federal transportation regulations.
  • Deliver shipments safely and on time while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure cargo is secured properly throughout each trip.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment while following company safety procedures.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you should have:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Previous truck driving experience is considered an asset.
  • Valid Class 1 or Class A driver’s licence.

  • Experience operating tractor-trailer trucks is preferred.
